Taking into account the main tasks and objectives, the overall structure of the JGC, the Center includes four main specialised units (Fig. 1) which work in close cooperation: genomics, metabolomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.
Building a knowledge based economy requires direct knowledge based implementation of the science achievements into the economy sectors. JGC model of interaction with the national institutions, SMEs, NGOs and the market (shown in the Fig. 2) is based on successful models found elsewhere in the EU which have secured EU funds previously and therefore meet all the key EU compliance requirements.
JGC structure and management are flexible in order to allow the realization of the main principles of the innovation – to convert ideas into a business model and to build bridges between science and business.
The general structure (Fig. 5) shows that the basic principles of JGC are promoted by the Common Assembly. The Activities of the JGC are managed and coordinated by its managers - Assoc. Prof. Maria Shishiniova and academician Atanas Atanassov, under the supervision of the National and International Advisory Board. The Advisory Board consists of prominent Bulgarian and foreign scientists and businessmen who recognize the role of innovation. In the initial stage of its development in order to ensure a successful start and according to its general principles, JGC has highly qualified specialists available. New jobs will be created according to the needs of ongoing projects..
